Experience

From our year-round attractions such as museums and historic downtown, to our many festivals and events, Greenwood offers a wonderful array of things to do and see.

GREENWOOD
YOUR WAY

Tucked away in the curves of three rivers, just a few miles from where the Mississippi Delta gives way to the bluffs, Greenwood pulls natives and newcomers into a land of blues and cypress swamps, to-die-for food, luxuriant spas and one-of-a-kind shops. Whether you’re looking for a weekend at Mississippi’s most celebrated hotel, an easy stroll through a century of fine architecture or a trek down dusty roads along the Blues Trail, you’ve come to the right place.

Civil Rights

In the middle of the 20th Century, Greenwood and Leflore County witnessed a slow, but certain, shift in the winds of justice. Those with deep roots in the Delta joined their voices with those from far away and vowed that they would not be turned back. Their steps can be traced, even today, in and around Greenwood.

Delta Blues

Greenwood has a special relationship with the blues – a music born of field hollers used in the days when cotton was picked by hand. Come to the City of Greenwood to explore the Mississippi Blues Trail or to visit one of famous blues musician Robert Johnson’s three gravesites.
